CNX control systems provide ethernet, LAN and WAN compatibility enabling the integration of sources in the next room or on the next continent. Crestron provide both state of the art systems and entry level options all with logical upgrade paths.

Paul provided a bespoke solution as a £600K + element within a £15M refurbishment of a Tudor Mansion.

Whole-house music and movies together with Lutron Homeworks Interactive lighting control and a THX certified cinema were installed, all seamlessly controlled with a touch-screen building management system.

The centrepiece of the installation was an underground “theme park” where the client had commissioned a beach with wave machine, a galleon wreck (the bar) and a lighting and sound effects system which allowed for the client to get a tan on his beach or, at his whim, create a realistic storm with lightning effects, sound effects and over 20 subwoofers located under the sand creating a real sense of drama.

Paul featured on-screen repeatedly in a 16 part TV series for Discovery Home & Leisure featuring the complete restoration of a 15th Century Surrey Mansion where IDEAS provided a multi-room music system and lighting control.

This series was followed by a 2 part 1 hour special specifically dedicated to converting a cowshed at the property into a bespoke private movie theatre.

We designed a THX certified home cinema for this world famous icon of 1960’s British Cinema who’s career spans the decades and is still making Hollywood movies today.

This client has used our team twice.

At the first home we worked on, in addition to a Linn multi-room music system, IDEAS delivered a bespoke home-cinema in the Garden Room.

A key problem was that the client required the cinema to be invisible when not in use and the area designated for a screen had both an apex (meaning a drop down screen was not possible) and a window (meaning that a fixed screen was unsuitable.

We commissioned the custom manufacture of an elevating screen mounted in the floor and tensioned with a rear mounted scissor mechanism allowing the client to achieve the desired effect.

Later the client moved to a 9 bedroomed property in Wokingham and this time IDEAS were re-commissioned to install 2 7.1 theatres and a Crestron multi-room system with full music and video integration to all rooms.

Paul's team designed and installed a complete home theatre, multi room music and touchscreen building management system allowing control of lighting, heating and ventilation together with a specific request to remotely control the running of a bath.

Electronically controllable Phillipe Starke bath taps and waste units were selected and a unique control interface was designed from 3rd party devices to allow the client to telephone a specific number, enter a pass-code, and then follow a set of guided instructions and enter numeric answers to run a bath which would be ready on his arrival home.

The Clients, husband, CEO of a world famous international management consultancy, and wife, CEO of a financial institution and on-screen contributor to CNN financial reporting, required a whole–house music system at their stunning 6 bedroomed home on the Grand canal in Venice.

IDEAS provided a unique solution allowing the client to manage all their media in Italy remotely from their main home in Hertfordshire in order to prepare music and movie playlists in advance for their regular visits to the Venice property.

A bespoke whole-house music and movie system to the client’s iconic Edwardian Chelsea Home.

The system included a premium music system to all rooms, the garden and also the roof pool with views down the Kings Road and over Chelsea and Belgravia.

Our team provided a whole-house music system for this client with the emphasis on supreme audio quality and intuitive operation at her 5 storey Holland Park home.

In addition to audio quality and simplicity of operation, a key requirement was for the system to blend in invisibly into the minimalist environment.
